Included processes: Transport of ash to cane fields Remark: This inventory has been developed as part of the AusAgLCI initiative funded by a partnership of Australian Research and Development Corporations (RIRDC, CRDC, GRDC, SRDC, HAL, MLA, DA, FWPA) and Research Agencies (CSIRO, USQ and Q DAFF), with technical support from Life Cycle Strategies. More detail on inventory development can be found in the 'AusAgLCI Methodology for developing Life Cycle Inventory' documents located at www.auslci.alcas.asn.au. Data is based on the application of ash to cane fields in Queensland. Inputs are limited to transportation at this stage. Avoided application of fertiliser displaced by the nutrient value of the ash still needs to be considered. Transport distance is based on a typical radius of distribution between Queensland sugar mills and cane fields. Accumulation in cane soils of residues from ash stills needs to be considered.
